Three fresh units of skirmish bow recruited into the army.......and it's now ready to head off and defend the frontier. We're playing a Late Roman campaign at the club at the moment, so we'll see how well they perform soon. Plenty of barbarian hoards in the campaign who can't wait to get stuck in......look out you heathens ..... come get some ! :-)
Oh...their all 28mm A & A
Good paint job !!!
ReplyDeleteBest regards Michael
Thanks Michael, I enjoyed painting these guys.
DeleteBeautiful work - as are all of the figures on your website. Always a pleasure to visit. :-) Matthew
ReplyDeleteCheers Matthew, thanks for the feedback.
DeleteFantastic looking figures here. Great basing and ground work too.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Ross
Cheers Ross.
DeleteImpressive painting jobs!! The tunics are fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteI was looking for some variation with the tunics without them looking overly bright and unrealistic. Thanks.
DeleteLovely indeed - it will be really good to see the whole army in action!
ReplyDeleteShall take some pics Caliban on their first outing.....will probably be against Sarmatians ( ouch ! )
DeleteFantastic! What a great army.
ReplyDeleteLoving your new units as well, I think the figures are superb. Looking forward to more of your brush work saxon dog.
DeleteYet another great addition to a fantastic army!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Cheers Christopher.
DeleteLuvverly patches!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon, was happy with how they turned out....not too flowery ? :-)
DeleteThose are great. Beautiful work on the tunic and helmets!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonathan, I love the mix in this range a real mish- mash of equipment.
DeleteLovely, I love all the flourishes here! Best looking archers on the battlefield, I predict. Against barbarians, you'll need these fellows to nick the enemy so they lose their Impetus dice before they go in!
ReplyDeleteHahaha thanks Monty....yes dazzle them with flashy tunics is the key. Barbarian warbands are a handful, especially in large units.....you have to get rid of the back unit and score 1 VBU on the front before they loose their impetus.....hmmm maybe I need more ?? :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. I forgot about the large units. That makes them even more unstoppable. Well, then, your beautiful cavalry will have to do the trick!
DeleteThere is no doubt in my mind that your army is the reason that I have got back into Impetus. It started me painting up all the A and A castings I had in the house (and ordered more). Is there any chance I can ask you for a picture of your army?
ReplyDeleteWell done these are a inspiration!
Very kind of you to say so.....and glad to be of help SD.
DeleteImpetus has taken over my gaming time lately.....just a fantastic set of rules I think. I was going to take some pics of them all together soon, will post them up here when I get the time.
Cheers
Richard
Fantastic work Tarty. Look forward to seeing the whole army displayed!
ReplyDeleteCraig
Looking forward to either running them over with my Alamanni or shooting them full of arrows from my Sassanids..........
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking skirmishers, love the bases too!
ReplyDeletePhil.
Thanks Phil, looking forward to giving them a run :-)
