Anticipating the release of Impetus Baroque I started rebasing these guys at long last. All new flags as well. Still do like this Dixon range I think they've scrubbed up well....painted quiet some time ago all in enamels.
Good stuff ol'boy, been a big fan of Dixons, dont care what any body says they got character by the bucket loads. These boys are really shinning on their new bases.
Been mulling over some options for Baroque. I'm thinking over ECW or 30YW with GNW an outside bet (although I have tons of 18thC already). I've never really considered "true" pike and shot and the 30YW has tons of atagonists and colourful chaps, hmm a definite maybe. Just need to finish there bloody Normans first.
There's some very nice TYW choices and loads of options that look great on the table. I would love to do an early Imperial for example ....those large tercios would be great to paint up sensational flags as well.
These are "the ducks nuts" Richard. Very nice indeed and I couldn't agree more about the quality of the Dixon figures in this period.
ReplyDeleteThey are stunning Richard.
ReplyDeleteAhh Tarty....they are one of my all time favourite 28mm armies...your French and Ralph's Bavarians!!! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteCheers buddy .... considering the considerable collection you now have particularly in this period that's high praise indeed ;-)
DeleteVery impressive uniforms, paintjob and photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI recently gave Basic Impetvs Baroque a test and it worked well for the ECW.
Full version is not far off now Jonathan....and looking good. Can't wait .
DeleteWonderful brushwork sir!
ReplyDeleteQuite splendid! Well worth the rebasing effort.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone ... looking forward to getting some more table time with these guys now. One of my favourite periods.
ReplyDeleteJust bought the figures to do an Anglo-Dutch army now ..... aaaaaaaaaand we're off on another project !! :-)
