Frederic lll v Anthony the Bastard of Burgundy

Had a great game last night 28mm and only 300pts a side. Ralph's Imperials v my Burgundians....just so brutal. Every time I play this period I feel like I've really been in a fight,  just the total seesawing bloody catastrophe you would expect. It had everything ....heavy artillery carving up large pike blocks....crushing plate armoured cavalry charges....units getting pushed back and dying at the feet of friendly formations....massed hand gunners standing toe to toe with long bow and commanders getting butchered with their men.........superb ! what more could you ask for ?
Burgundians managed to scrounge a victory out of the day but they were exhausted by the end of it all.....most of the remaining troops were left on single break points.

MOAB Impetus Trophies

Just finished painting and mounting the trophies for the Impetus competition I'll be running at MOAB (Sydney) in October.... quiet enjoyed doing them actually. Decided on a Greek theme in the end after going through a few other different combinations. I also wanted them to look on the at ease contemplative side rather than all action and dramatic swinging charging crazy maniacs....do you think they look subdued enough ? Gone for quiet understated colours as well.

Greenwich Little Wars

Friend of mine runs this DBA tournament for kids every year in Greenwich ( Sydney) which is great I think, the kids absolutely love it and he's getting a good following now. Thought it was worth a post on the blog at least....good on you Peter......get them in young buddy.
Each table is set up with fixed historical opponents and fixed terrain, the kids then rotate....nice and simple. One or two of the dads step in and play occasionally .....they can't help themselves hahahaha

A Bridge Too Far...a Club Game

Played Arnhem at the Goulburn Club on the weekend, an amazing amount of planning and preparation was put into pulling it all together. Quiet a few collections involved figures, buildings and terrain ...... I just had to show up. Great fun and a great weekend.
Scale is 20mm

All went the same way as it did in the history books.....not the best for the good guys.
